Gambia Adventurer Agenda  10-Days of Pure Heaven!

Day One: Visitors Arrive at the Banjul International Airport (times vary). You will be greeted at the airport by one of the Smiling Coast Staff. They will be recognizable by their company apparel as well as signs with your individual names. Visitors need to plan arrival time for early evening (transfers to lodging are included in fee).

Arrival Dinner (included in fee) and Orientation will take place. The rest of the evening will be spent organizing room and relaxing from international flight.

Day Two: Gambian Breakfast (included in fee) at hotel. We will take a tour of The Gambia! U.S. Embassy, a trip to Bank to Exchange Money; and the grocery store to purchase items if interested. Tours of Abuko Nature Reserve, Lamin Lodge, Wine Distillery at a traditional Gambian Home, Local Women Gardening, and King Kombo Winery, Lunch will be at a local Gambian Restaurant (included in fee).

In the evening, you will be escorted to Makasatu for an evening of Gambian Cultural entertainment and dinner (fee included).

Day Three: Gambian Breakfast (included in fee) at hotel. We will take tours to the University of the Gambia, and Kacchikally Crocodile Pool. We will then head to the Capital city Banjul. Stops will be made in Downtown Banjul for shopping, Gambian Museum, traditional tailor shop for clothes and Banjul Brewery. If you are interested in getting custom made traditional Gambian Clothes made, you will need to purchase material during the shopping excursion. One of the stops on the tour after shopping will be to a tailor’s shop. Anyone wanting to get clothing made will have the opportunity to get measured, and put in an order for garments.

All garments will be completed before the end of the trip back to the U.S. Designs and pictures of traditional clothing will be distributed to each guest upon arrival. This will give you an opportunity to choose some designs of your choice before the visit to the tailor. Lunch will be at a local Gambian Restaurant (fee not included)

In the evening, you will be escorted to the strip were you will have a choice of Gambian nightclubs and restaurants to choose from for dinner (fee not included) and check your email at an Internet Café. Your escort will remain with you until return to hotel.

Day Four: Gambian Breakfast at hotel (included in fee). Tour of a Traditional Gambian Home and Storytelling will take place (History of the Gambia). You will also be able to participate in a Gambian Naming Ceremony/Wedding/Initiation rights. Lunch will be the traditional Gambian way at the home (fee included).

In the evening, you will be escorted to the Senegambia strip. There you will have a choice of Gambian nightclubs and restaurants to choose from for dinner (fee not included) and check your email at an Internet Café. Your escort will remain with you until return to hotel.

Day Five: Gambian Breakfast at hotel (included in fee). Early morning Trip to Juffureh and James Island, this is the home of Kunta Kinteh and “Roots”. Please note that this is an all day trip. Lunch will be provided (fee included).

In the evening, you will be escorted to the Senegambia strip. There you will have a choice of Gambian nightclubs and restaurants to choose from for dinner (fee not included) and check your email at an Internet Café. Your escort will remain with you until return to hotel.

Day Six: Gambian Breakfast at hotel (included in fee). We will go to the beach for a fun day of activity (massages on the beach, shopping, etc). Lunch will be a Gambian picnic lunch (fee included). We will attend a local or National Soccer Game or traditional Wrestling.

In the evening, you will be escorted to the Senegambia strip. There you will have a choice of Gambian nightclubs and restaurants to choose from for dinner (fee not included) and check your email at an Internet Cafe. Your escort will remain with you until return to hotel.

Day Seven: Gambian Breakfast at hotel (included in fee). Free day to explore The Gambia on your own! Escorts will be available to assist you or guide you on your individual excursions.

Day Eight: Gambian Breakfast at hotel (included in fee). Tailored outfits will be delivered at Breakfast (for those who purchased clothing items)! Tour of Gambian School will be conducted. You will have an opportunity to meet with the students and instructors. We will take a tour of Gambian Government offices and meet with Gambian Officials over lunch (fee included).

In the evening, you will be escorted to the Senegambia strip. There you will have a choice of Gambian nightclubs and restaurants to choose from for dinner (fee not included) and check your email at an Internet Cafe. Your escort will remain with you until return to hotel.

Day Nine: Gambian Breakfast at hotel (included in fee). Free day to explore The Gambia on your own! Escorts will be available to assist you or guide you on your individual excursions!

Farewell Dinner and entertainment will be held later in the evening at a traditional Gambian home (fee included).

Day Ten: Departure for the U.S. at various times. Bon voyage! We hope to see you again!
