Smiling Coast Tours has a partnership with the University of The Gambia to bring students to take college courses and have credit for it and also for lecturers to go and teach, conduct research and/or present their researches at the University of the Gambia.

Smiling Coast Tours will also provide volunteering opportunities to people and groups who wish to volunteer in the Gambia.

Educational Services

Students may wish to earn university credit for their adventure to the Gambia. Students are eligible to earn 6 credit points for their participation on the two-week adventure to The Gambia, this may be achieved through independent study or study abroad Program.

Students can take the University of The Gambia Curriculum to their professor and work with him or her to design a highly individualized course of Independent Study in the fields of Business Management, Humanities, Sciences, Medicine, conservation, community development or any other relevant course. This will entail an incredibly powerful and personally tailored learning experience.

Smiling Coast Tours offers a perfect experiential learning program. Whether you’re looking to get academic credit or not – you’ll have the most amazing and educational experience learning about your host country, its people, its culture and the issues facing it.

Volunteering Services

Smiling Coast Tours gives you the unique ability to combine meaningful volunteer work with an action packed adventure tour to enable you to experience everything The Gambia has to offer. With Smiling Coast Tours, you will become part of the community, get to know the local people and become much more than a tourist.

On Smiling Coast Tours adventures you will travel with 25 to 30 other adventurers from all over the United States so you will be able to make new friends while sharing your adventure and cultural experience. We will offer you the opportunity to work with girls education, impoverished people, endangered species and fostering responsible travel and cultural awareness. With Smiling Coast Tours you can travel with a purpose and literally change your life and the lives of those that you help (or the natural world) through your efforts.
